THIS is what real health insurance looks like.
We get a lot of questions re: what we feed our dogs and cost (which is why I wrote the guide "What to Feed Your Dog...and Why" | https://www.packfit.net/books-and-ebooks).
Does it cost more on the front end to eat and feed this way?
Yes, but THIS is what real "health insurance" looks like.
Feeding and eating cheap, highly processed, enzyme deficient, low quality, and unnaturally-made food-like products that have a shelf life of up to a few years does *NOTHING* for overall "health."
The only thing it feeds is illness. Not health.
It feeds malnourishment and inflammation (2 of the main underlying root causes of illness and disease).
It also feeds the bottom line of hospitals and veterinary clinics (hello, consistent income, thanks to: clinic visits, unnecessary vaccinations, illness and disease, pharmaceuticals, "special diet foods", etc.).
Our state of health (or lack thereof), and our sickness and illness is big business for many.
Look.
Food is simple.
Nutrition is simple.
Health is simple.
But we've heavily complicated it for the sake of greed... and to speak to society's fast, cheap, effortless, and easy mindset.
Time and money may be saved by feeding processed food-like product, but at a great cost. One I- personally- have never been willing to pay; nor any of the animals who 100% depend on me to make their nutritional choices for them.
We've been heavily conditioned to believe in "Science" over "Nature".
Lab-made over Nature-made.
**Just because a body can tolerate it (to a point), doesn't make it "healthy"... or even good.**
This is just as true for dogs as it is for humans.
There's a difference between real, biologically appropriate food... and food-like product.
There's information in every living creature's physiology as to what that body needs to be taking in for sound health.
There's also a difference between "eating"... and a body getting actual **nourishment.**
We've invested *heavily* in the health and overall care of Ava and her pups.
When we started this journey, our goals were to...
- create a space of safety, security, calm, and comfort so Ava could relax and raise her puppies with a regulated nervous system (very important for the puppies, especially- as well as her).. and not worry about where her next meal would come from or even when that would be,
- provide proper nourishment, and build super strong gut and immune health (which we have) through body-supportive protocols,
- show others that approaching rescue through a health and behavioral lens could be done,
and
- find good, *committed*, invested, *responsible*, loving homes so each of these precious souls never had to suffer abandonment, hunger, fear, etc. again.
We've achieved the first part... but are struggling HARD to achieve the last part. And it's taken its toll in more ways than one.
Finding good, responsible, committed, invested humans has been like trying to find Elvis, and this has placed a massive strain on our household in many ways.
We cannot keep these dogs.
We don't have the space or the means to do so.
We're also not just going to give them to "just anybody", and are very well aware of the insane amount of dog fraud going on at the moment.
Each pup comes with:
- vet papers,
- a strong health and behavioral foundation,
- microchips,
- vaccinations (according to Dr. W. Jean Dodds' Hemopet, Petlifeline, Hemolife & Nutriscan's vaccination protocol), and
- training, coaching, and guidance *for the life of the dog* as part of our continued commitment to everyone.
This has been a massive undertaking and we still really, really need funding help and support.
We've used the majority of what's been raised already for food and still need support for Ava's spay and microchip, the pups' 2nd vaccination rounds (in 5 days), etc.
If any of the pups go into foster, we still also need to be able to provide food and vet care while in foster.
Please, please help.
We're exhausted, run-down, and our utility bills have more than doubled with the amount of laundry we do every day.
I never wanted to regret doing this... and I don't. But, now, I won't have the faith or support behind doing this again because of how long this is taking and the toll it's taken.

Please share their plight.
We need to find their special humans.
Good humans.
Responsible humans.
Invested, committed, "in-it" humans.
Kind humans.
Caring humans.
I have to believe they're out there.
