The Human End of the Leash: How Trauma Impacts Physical Health

This is, in no way, a complete list. There are countless ways trauma impacts our physical health... from restructuring the brain to excess weight to various ailments, "disorders" (which are actually *responses*), and diseases.

As the saying goes, "The issues are in the tissues."

Unprocessed emotions get stored in the body and have a negative impact.

Not addressing trauma, not working towards healing (read: not using pharmaceutical aids to dull, numb, suppress, etc.), and not allowing our emotions to fully process is both detrimental and costly in more ways than we realize. And conventional medicine is certainly not pointing this out to us.

Again, you may be wondering what this has to do with dogs (and I can only imagine trauma impacts dogs the same way).

In the latest book I've been working on, "The Human End of the Leash: Dog Training's Missing Link", the focus is on us. Our end of the leash.

Because it's our end of the leash that is responsible for their end of the leash... in all ways.

What we refuse to feel, we can't heal. And we've got a lot of folks refusing to feel.

Unfortunately, this impacts all of us... including, and especially, our dogs.

We go into greater detail in the book, but this information is good to be aware of.

Our emotional and physical health are deeply connected, and impacts how (and if) we show up.
